The strategic Account Manager for Aerospace and Defense (A&D) in North America is a remote position and will be self-directed with the ability to drive for desired results through prospecting new clients and making initial contacts through multiple channels. You will be accountable for client retention and growing the business through various top-down and bottom-up selling strategies. The A&D account manager is expected to have deep knowledge of the industry, key players and have existing personal experiences working within these accounts. This person will be expected to lead CTI’s growth within A&D.

Key Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed sales targets
  • Identify opportunities to grow business within existing accounts by upselling or cross selling
  • Generate new sales opportunities through various methods
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships through regular communication and exceptional service
  • Perform lead & quotation follow-up via outbound emails and direct phone calls
  • Manage and maintain required pipeline and forecast data
  • Determine appropriate solutions to meet customers’ needs and create technical sales proposals
  • Prepare and present company products and capabilities online and facilitate in-person presentations
  • Negotiate pricing, products, and promotions with new customers
  • Strengthen relationships with existing customers by providing quality customer service and developing future business opportunities
  • Understand and implement strategic selling techniques for selling into long-term federal programs and projects
  • Be continuously informed about industry events, announcements, and opportunities
  • Maintain customer database by recording all activities, transactions, and communications with customers and prepare regular reports and forecasts for management
  • Travel to Trade Shows/Customers, ensuring strong relationships and staying updated with industry trends

Required and Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years business-to-business sales experience within A&D, with preference in electronics or a computer environment
  • College Diploma or University degree in Business or Electronics and/or previous military service a plus
  • Proven experience as an Account Manager, Business Development, or similar role
  • Strong customer service skills with a client-first mindset
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate high business acumen for professional verbal and written correspondence
  • Results-driven attitude with a focus on achieving and exceeding sales targets
  • Ability to identify and generate new sales opportunities through various methods, such as email outreach, networking and researching prospective clients
  • Ability to prioritize leads, manage time effectively, and balance multiple outreach campaigns
  • Be proficient in applying negotiation techniques and bring the negotiations to a close
  • Strong commitment to managing customer interaction with dedication to follow-up and a focus on completion
  • Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to travel and must hold a valid passport
  • Valid driver’s license, good driving record, reliable personal transportation
  • Must be a US citizen and/or hold a valid green card
  • Applicants must qualify as per the requirements and regulations defined in the Controlled Goods Regulations under the Canadian Defence Production Act; as well as the regulations prescribed under the International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR) Title 22, Parts 120-130 of the United States Code of Federal Regulations
