Conavi Medical’s Novasight Hybrid System enables simultaneous imaging of coronary arteries with both intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) and Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT).

If you would like to be a part of our growing and talented team that is making a difference in healthcare, we are currently looking for a Senior FPGA Digital Electronics Designer to design and develop FPGA data acquisition firmware and electronic hardware for imaging systems, focusing on the data acquisition, digital and analog signal generation and processing and design of the related electrical components.

In this position, you will:

  • Lead the design and development of FPGA data acquisition firmware for imaging systems contributing to everything from top level product architecture to low level coding
  • Collaborate with and provide guidance to hardware engineering team to improve the design and development of the system’s electrical and mechanical components, recommending product changes and enhancements to improve performance
  • Evaluate the final electrical designs to ensure the requirements are met including signal integrity, manufacturability, safety and regulations
  • Write and execute simulation testing and performance testing to evaluate the performance and reliability of software test plans
  • Collaborate with internal contacts (e.g. Quality, Global Product Managers, Hardware Engineers) and external contacts (e.g. clinicians, scientists) to understand device requirements and achieve development goals
  • Maintain and modify existing applications to resolve problems or improve device capabilities and performance
  • Mentor, guide and support less experienced developers
  • Assist with product demonstrations for investors, potential customers, members of the company’s advisory boards and support conferences and trade shows
  • Participate in, and adhere to, health & safety initiatives and requirements

You possess the following qualifications:

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering
    • Skilled in FPGA/ASIC programmable logic programming as well as one of the design entry methods such as VHDL or Verilog
    • Significant working experience with Xilinx FPGA development
    • Understanding of Windows C++ and C# programming
    • Experience with PCB design
    • Significant working experience in digital filter design
    • Significant working experience with analog and digital signal processing
    • Strong mathematical skills and knowledge of Programming in Matlab, C/C++
    • Working experience with software version control systems (e.g. Subversion, Git, etc.)

    Additional Beneficial Experience and Qualifications

    • Understanding of material science
    • Understanding of object-oriented design / development using C# (.Net Framework) and/or C++
    • Understanding of design control in a regulated industry with experience working with the IEC 62304 or ISO 13485 quality standards
