Circuit Stream is a leader in future technology skills training and learning content. We offer world-class educational services for teen and adult learners with a focus on the skills needed to leverage immersive and emerging technology.

We are seeking passionate software engineers with a deep understanding of Python3, Raspberry Pi 5, and automations to instruct our Build Your Own Computer with Raspberry Pi programs to learners aged 13-18 offered in-person at campuses in Canada! Students will be learning the basics of coding, and creating home automations on custom gadgets. The ideal instructor candidates for this course should possess a strong foundation in Python3, Raspberry Pi 5, as well as some teaching, TA or training experience.

Build Your Own Computer with Raspberry Pi will be offered in-person in August, in the following cities. Preference will be given to candidates who are available to teach during the day (9am - 3pm local time) in-person. Candidates selected for interviews will be contacted starting in May 2025.

  • Toronto in-person in August
  • Vancouver in-person in August

Responsibilities

  • Lead engaging and comprehensive classroom sessions with teen learners following the Build Your Own Computer with Raspberry Pi course curriculum
  • Provide constructive feedback, guidance, and mentorship to students as they ideate, develop, and iterate on their code, and projects.
  • Showcase proficiency in Python, Raspberry Pi, sensors, and automations
  • Share real-world experiences, case studies, and insights to offer students a holistic understanding of the field.
  • Grade assessments that accurately measure student understanding and progress within the course.

Requirements

  • Availability to teach during the day 9am-3pm (local time) in Summer 2025
  • Previous professional experience in software engineering roles, automations, or robotics
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Python3, Raspberry Pi 5, Raspberry Pi OS, Pi Camera, and PiR sensors
  • Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to convey complex concepts in an accessible and engaging manner.
  • Innate logical thinking and the ability to inspire and nurture logical thinking in students.
  • A passion for guiding and mentoring students, fostering their growth, and providing meaningful feedback.
  • Willingness to adapt to evolving curriculum needs, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
  • A collaborative attitude, eager to contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.
  • A proactive attitude towards ongoing professional development and a willingness to learn and stay up-to-date with industry advancements.
  • A strong portfolio of relevant work to showcase your skills and experience.
