The Technical Talent Acquisition Coordinator (8 month contract) is an early career opportunity for someone with 1-3 years experience in recruitment. The person in this role will play an important part in the large-scale recruitment and onboarding processes for technical instructors and teaching assistants for our Pre-University summer courses in up to 10 locations. Our ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Commerce degree with HR focus or Bachelor of Arts/Science in Psychology (or similar education background) with at least 1 year experience in recruitment (preferably technical or ed-tech roles) The person in this role will be highly organized, detail oriented, an excellent communicator, good at multitasking and willing to learn. This is an individual contributor role that reports to the People & Culture Manager.
Note: This role will based full-time (5 days per week) in our Circuit Stream office, 1011, 1st Street SW. This is an 8-month temporary full-time employment contract.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review a large volume of resumes for part-time technical instructor roles and teaching assistant roles for multiple locations, both in-person and online and match these to the job requirements to create a short list of candidates to screen.
- Proactively search and reach out to potential candidates via LinkedIn and also ask for referrals.
- Support the People & Culture Manager to interview instructors and teaching assistant candidates for multiple courses and locations using screening questions, taking detailed notes and updating the recruitment tracker.
- For selected candidates, set up teaching demos/second interviews with colleagues in the Product team.
- Support the People & Culture Manager with the hiring process by collecting relevant details from selected candidates for job offers and contracts.
- Support the onboarding process for new instructors including background checks, systems access, relevant forms, etc.
- Complete grant applications for Teaching Assistants who are eligible for Work Integrated Learning grants in Canada.
- Set up training/orientations for new instructors and teaching assistants.
- Assist the People & Culture Manager and Curriculum Design Team with additional instructor support as required.
Role Requirements:
- Bachelor of Commerce specializing in HR, Bachelor of Arts/Science in Psychology, Master of Management specializing in HR or similar
- 1-3 years experience in talent acquisition, preferably recruiting for technical roles OR recruiting for education (technical instructors and teaching assistants).
- Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets, Word/Google Docs, PowerPoint/Google Slides
- Previous experience conducting screening interviews, writing interview reports, connecting with hiring managers, conducting reference checks, setting up new hire onboarding, etc.
- Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems\
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Extreme attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage a wide variety of issues simultaneously
- Ability to work full time from January to August 2025 (8 months) working fully on-site at our office
