About the opportunity:

Christie is seeking a talented and experienced Embedded Software Engineer to join our team in developing cutting-edge video products for professional environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and testing embedded software solutions for a wide range of video processing applications in markets such as broadcast, live events, corporate, and education.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop embedded software for video processing systems, including video input/output, video scaling, compression, and transmission.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware, firmware, and software engineers, to define system requirements and specifications.

· Develop and maintain software design documentation, including flowcharts, design specifications, and test plans.

· Implement software using C/C++ and other programming languages on various embedded platforms, such as ARM, DSP, or microcontrollers.

· Debug and troubleshoot software issues at the board and system level, working closely with hardware engineers and firmware developers.

· Optimize software for performance, power, and memory utilization.

· Support product integration, system testing, and validation efforts.

· Stay up to date with the latest embedded software technology trends and advancements in video processing and related fields.

· Participate in design reviews and provide input to improve product quality and performance.

The experience and skills we value:

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • years of experience in embedded software development, preferably in the video processing industry.
  • Strong proficiency in C/C++ and experience with embedded software development tools, such as compilers, debuggers, and emulators.
  • In-depth knowledge of video processing algorithms, standards, and protocols, such as H.264, H.265, VP9, AV1, HDMI, DisplayPort, SDI, and SMPTE 2110.
  • Familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and multi-threaded programming.

What will put you ahead:

  • Experience with hardware interfaces, such as I2C, SPI, UART, and USB.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
