About the opportunity:
We’re looking for a Lead Field Application Engineer to support Christie’s ProAV portfolio. This role provides advanced expertise and leadership across all customer-facing and internal functions. The position acts as the primary technical escalation point and trusted expert, ensuring technical excellence and consistent service delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver technical training and product demonstrations to customers, ensuring effective installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Christie products.
- Oversee and coordinate technical on-site or remote activities, serving as the primary escalation point for complex issues and ensuring decisions align with established procedures.
- Provide advanced technical support through pre- and post-sales activities, resolving issues promptly, implementing interim solutions when needed and escalating unresolved problems.
- Perform advanced product repair, maintenance, installation, calibration, troubleshooting, commissioning, and integration services of Christie products.
- Serve as the technical authority during system design and tender stages, validating recommendations and ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Support trade shows, events, and product demonstrations, ensuring equipment readiness and performance.
- Conduct site surveys to support project sales and maintain accurate service records, site reports, and project documentation on the server.
- Collect and analyze customer feedback on Christie and third-party systems, providing technical insights and recommendations when requested to support optimal system performance.
- Demonstrate Christie products to highlight unique selling points, ensure optimal performance, and confirm compatibility with customer sources.
- Represent Field Applications Engineering team in cross-functional discussions and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide advanced help desk support via phone and email and adapt planned approaches during field assignments to meet deliverables and maintain system performance.
- Prepare or assist in creating technical documentation, reports, training materials, and customer technical communications.
- Maintain advanced technical knowledge of Christie products and their integration into complex systems, as well as familiarity with competitor products.
- Complete all required Health & Safety and compliance documentation during activities, adhering to statutory and company-defined policies.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.

The experience and skills we value:
- Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or equivalent field of study.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in customer-facing technical roles. Preferably in Audio and Video integration and engineering.
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in repair/maintenance/theory of Digital projection systems and/or other Audio systems, in technical support, networking, field service, PC repair or related field experience.
What Will Put You Ahead:
- Experience with professional A/V technologies, including AES3, SDI, HDMI.
- Experience troubleshooting AV equipment at the board level using software, error logs, and service manuals.
- Knowledge of audio signal processing, audio I/O implementation and audio calibration.
- Understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, routing, and switching.
- Knowledge of digital products and related equipment such as PC hardware, setup, repair and installation.
- Excellent technical problem-solving, troubleshooting, and follow-up skills.
- Strong presentation and training skills.
- Customer Focused, with strong customer service skills and the ability to maintain positive relationships with key customers.
- Ability to provide on-site support when necessary.
- Ability to lift and move heavy packages (up to 20kg).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent organizational skills and a results orientation approach
- Strong judgement and decision-making skills, especially in high-pressure situations with the ability to make informed decisions independently.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and third-party service providers.
- Good interpersonal and English communication skills (verbal and written).
- Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience in ERP systems, JD Edwards preferred.
- Ability to adapt and understand multiple cultures; communicate effectively in a multi-cultural environment.
- Able to travel domestically and occasionally internationally.
