The Role

The Head of Product Management is an important leadership role at Cymax Group Technologies. You will drive product strategy and execution of our Freight Club business, along with the rest of the Product team. As a key member of our Senior Leadership Team, you will work closely with cross-functional leaders to align product strategy with business and customer needs. You are action-oriented and thrive in a fast-paced environment, ready to ensure that your team is focused on consistently delivering high value and high-quality product enhancements. You are comfortable making strategic decisions and equally adept at diving deep into tasks, rolling up your sleeves to get the work done.

Who You Are

  • Relevant experience in freight/logistics, or related technology domains.
  • Proven track record over multiple years as an individual contributor product manager responsible for value and viability of solutions.
  • You have a track record of building and growing a high-performing team of engaged product managers.
  • Proven ability to go deep and quickly learn new domains, as well as solid understanding of all major parts of the business.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the techniques and methods of modern product discovery and product delivery.
  • Proven track record of coaching and developing other people.
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of your role as the primary coach of your product managers, and how that differs from managing products directly.
  • Proven ability to engage with both individual contributors and leaders of all levels in constructive and collaborative relationships.
  • Demonstrate servant-based leadership and knowledge of leading by context rather than control.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead with Strategic Perspective
    • Define the product vision, strategy, and goals that drive meaningful outcomes for the business
    • As the product management leader of a major business unit at Cymax Group, you will ensure alignment your team’s focus and priorities with our overall business strategy and OKRs
    • Responsible for assisting with quarterly planning and assigning objectives (problems to solve) to product teams.
  • Customer Obsession is Key
    • Act as an expert on customer pain points for your product area. This includes our B2B customers as well as shipping carriers and partners that play important roles in our overall value proposition.
    • Maintain a deep understanding of the markets in which we operate, and share your perspectives regularly with your team and others in cross-functional leadership roles to drive shared perspectives.
    • You will build a culture of customer obsession within your team. This means that you will have regular proactive and reactive contact with customers that involve your team.
    • Build customer insight mechanisms and ensure that cross-functional teams are aware and acting on feedback.
  • Continuously Deliver Value to our Customers
    • Identify new areas of growth, create, and present business cases, and execute the plans for approved cases
    • Collaborate closely with engineering leaders to continuously improve how we design and deliver great software, bringing best practices and an open mind to finding what works best for our team, technology, and customer base.
  • Build a High Performing Product Team
    • Hire, train, and coach your team of product managers into a cohesive group of high performers.
    • Build a culture of innovation, communication, and customer obsession that drives excitement both internally and externally.
    • Work closely with executive leadership and key partners in sales, marketing, and customer success.
    • Build mechanisms, habits, and rituals within your team to help product managers make data-driven product decisions, trade-offs and grow their craft.

Compensation
We are committed to transparency in our hiring process. The Salary Range for this role is between $120,000 and $140,000 depending on experience, skills, training and organizational needs. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level and location.
