Currently, Cargoflip is bringing its MVP to market. We are searching for an experienced engineer that can not only help set our technological vision but also help us build the team and culture that can scale this vision of making it easy for businesses to trade goods abroad.

What will you do? ​

You will lead all aspects of the development of our Rails application
You will operate as a Full Cycle developer: architect, develop, test, deploy, operate, support, and maintain technical documentation
You will improve the architecture of our Rails application and deployment processes as needed
You will be working directly with the founding members of Product and Executive team
Over the next few months, we will work together to build out the rest of the tech team and hire more key technical roles.

Who are we looking for? ​

You have experience building and scaling web-based SaaS applications (Ruby on Rails / Javascript)
You have knowledge in a variety of web frameworks (server-side, browser, desktop, etc.)
You understand RESTful API design and architecture
You enjoy building products from scratch
You love learning and trying out new things but also understand how to take pragmatic decisions under existing constraints
You have experienced the joys and pains of hiring and expanding the engineering organization and want to do it again and want to do it better
You have the willingness to mentor other engineers and help them develop their skills and leadership abilities

Our Process ​

We are mindful of your time and try to make sure the entire process finishes within a week or two.
Initial call: We use this call to get to know you and clarify any questions you may have so that expectations align on both sides. We will also use this to pitch Cargoflip.
Meet the rest of the team: This is essential to see if we enjoy working with each other. Team fit is really important for us.
Technical Assessment: Here we want to see which technical decisions you have taken and why? We may ask you to write a small piece of code or let you explain any code that you have previously written.
Case meeting with founders: Discussion on the process so far and viewpoints on the potential future problems and how you plan to resolve them.
Reference checks: We may ask for references from your past experience here.
