CareCru is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead an ambitious, talented, and growing engineering team. You should be entrepreneurially minded and have a passion for developing world-class software. We expect this director to lead by example and play an active role contributing to the codebase, along with planning the successful delivery of product development initatives and shaping the current and future architecture of the CareCru platform.

To be successful as CareCru’s Director of Engineering, you must be both technically strong, and able to lead others. It is imperative that this Director is capable to do the work themselves that they are asking of their engineering team.

• You have an up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and their tech stacks
• You don’t shy away from rolling up the sleeves and writing code
• You live in either Edmonton (preferred) or Vancouver, and are comfortable with a Hybrid work environment

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and mentor the engineering team
• Collaborate closely with the Product team to help both shape, and deliver, the Product Roadmap
• Make key technical decisions alongside the team’s tech leads
• Design scalable software architecture to meet business needs
• Build an exceptional software engineering team

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Engineering Management experience
• 10+ years of experience building enterprise-grade software platforms
• Strong troubleshooting abilities
• Disciplined, and detail-oriented
• Clear and effective communication skills, both written and oral
• Based in either Edmonton or Vancouver
