We’re looking for an Intermediate Buyer to join our team and help drive our innovative projects to success.

Responsibilities

  • Qualifies Vendors, preparation of RFQs/RFPs, evaluate bids, negotiate prices, delivery, and terms for purchased goods and services.
  • Issue and expedite all purchases to meet the established service level requirements.
  • Provide continuous insight into vendor’s progress towards meeting purchase order requirements, particularly delivery schedules and vendor documentation submittal.
  • Interact with Vendors, Contractors, Project Managers, Project Engineers, and other department personnel regarding requisition requirements, procurement procedures, approval, order status and follow-up.
  • Develop and maintain reports to track progress of cost savings initiatives and process efficiencies.
  • Arrange/coordinate shipment of goods to identified destination.
  • Schedule and attend meetings with vendors and project team members; prepare documents and reports for meetings as required.
  • Resolve all invoice discrepancies with internal and external parties in a timely manner.
  • Complete all required close out activities for materials and services.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 5-8 years of purchasing experience is required.
  • Experience in purchasing in the EPCM, Cement, and/or industrial construction industry sector is required.
  • Experience in purchasing goods and services for engineering projects is required.
  • Knowledge in asset and inventory management is an asset.
  • Knowledge in project controls is an asset.
  • Completed or working towards business degree, diploma or SCMP designation with a discipline focus in purchasing or supply chain management is an asset.
  • Good understanding of business processes, methodologies and information systems related to supply chain is required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management coupled with a proficiency in managing shifting priorities in a multi-tasked, fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills (tactful, diplomatic, professional) coupled with a collaborative working style for building relationships at all organizational levels.
