As a Fund Development Manager for Canada Learning Code, you'll be a key player in amplifying our mission to advance digital literacy. You'll get to build strong relationships and co-create win-win partnerships with Fortune 500 companies, foundations and government. Your work will be instrumental in helping our org advance its mission and help equity-deserving learners advance their careers.

We are looking for a mission-driven, detail-oriented, inclusive individual to join our team. This is a full-time remote role with some travel and in-person time, as required.
About Us
Canada Learning Code is Canada's leading national charity championing computer science education. Canada Learning Code is proud to work from coast-to-coast-to-coast to make sure that everyone in Canada has access to the knowledge they need to prosper in our digital world.
Originally founded as Ladies Learning Code in 2011, the organization has evolved to run programming for adults, youth and educators, currently focusing on job-boosters and career-seekers. Today, Canada Learning Code operates in over 250 communities across the country, driving impact through program design and delivery, strategic industry and public partnerships, research and advocacy.
Key Responsibilities
Discovery/Cultivation
  • Identify a robust multi-year prospect pipeline of corporate, individual, foundation and government funders leveraging the CRM and incorporating standard research, identification and qualification analytics
  • Collaborate on a moves management process to drive prospects/donors through a donor pyramid inclusive of awareness and engagement activities
  • Track and report on monthly, quarterly, annual progress
Solicitation
  • Respond with agility to inbound funding opportunities in order to support new revenue growth
  • Collaborate on the creation of tailored proposals and grant applications that resonate with potential funding partners and reflect our strategic priorities.
  • Successfully prospect, solicit and on-board partners $25,000+ and work closely with the Director of Fund Development and senior staff to secure partners 100,000+.
  • Maintain an annual pipeline portfolio of ~$750K+.
Stewardship
  • Respond to prospect and donor inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Work closely with the Fundraising team to ensure donors/partners have a fantastic end to end giving experience and all funding deliverables are met including acknowledgement, engagement and recognition actions.
  • Leverage opportunities to surprise and delight our donors/partners, through learning about their key interests and priorities and finding ways to share “magic moments” and engage them in initiatives.
  • Communicate transparently when/if there are changes to funding priorities or deliverables.
  • Attend Canada Learning Code events, sponsor events and networking events as a representative of the Canada Learning Code fundraising team as required (requires flexibility to travel and work evenings/ weekends when necessary) to fully engage with our funder and learner communities.
Administration
  • Contribute to the optimization of the CRM (Salesforce) in terms of the configuration of dashboards, reports, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Contribute to data-driven decision making by tracking all activity in Salesforce.
  • Draft quarterly and annual impact reports for donors/partners and work cross-functionally to gather key metrics, stories, etc.
  • Coordinate, manage, and lead check-in calls with key partners, including preparing meeting agendas, meeting briefs and recording meeting minutes.
  • Develop and execute sponsor recognition and engagement events including corporate volunteer days; speaking events; etc.
  • Prepare thank you notes, tax receipts and all related donor/partner correspondence.
  • Other duties as assigned.
About You
  • Fundraising experience with multiple stakeholders including individual donors, corporate partners, foundation and government supporters and legacy donors.
  • Proven track record of driving diverse revenue growth in the non-profit sector.
  • Organized professional with ability to efficiently manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with diverse groups of people including, staff, internal and external committees and volunteers.
  • Operates with a high level of personal responsibility and initiative.
  • Flexible and adaptable; able to work both independently and as part of a fundraising team.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Comfortable with technology and strong computer skills including Google, Slack, Salesforce, Mail Chimp, and project management tools (experience with Asana preferred)
  • Proficient in creative platforms (Canva, Adobe)
  • Proven ability to exercise diplomacy and strong judgment/problem solving skills.
  • Outstanding at coordinating and working with third party donors, volunteers, and vendors.
  • Commitment to service excellence and donor satisfaction.
  • Ability to support the big picture goals while contributing to day-to-day tasks.
Location
We are a remote organization with Team Members located across Canada.
Reporting
This role reports to our Senior Director of Fund Development.
