The Opportunity:
We are committed to providing exceptional products and client experiences, and we’re looking for a Business Development Lead, Sales & Proposals to join our Business Development team.
The Business Development Lead, Sales & Proposals is a high-impact role that combines consultative selling, hands-on proposal writing, and polished product demonstrations. You will own the full sales cycle — from identifying and qualifying opportunities to closing awarded contracts, with a particular focus on competitive public procurement (RFPs, RFIs, RFQs).
Proposal and RFP authorship is a core strength of this role. You will own Camis's responses to competitive solicitations, crafting compliant, persuasive proposals that win. You will also use modern AI tools to work faster and raise quality across selling, presenting, and proposal development.
What you'll be doing:
- Identify and pursue new opportunities, building relationships with prospective agency clients from first contact through to close.
- Engage key decision-makers early in the buying cycle to shape requirements and influence procurement strategy.
- Act as a solution consultant — translate client operational challenges into compelling Camis solutions.
- Maintain rigorous pipeline and CRM discipline; meet and exceed lead generation, pipeline, and bookings targets.
- Feed market and competitive intelligence back to product, marketing, and Go-To-Market.
- Serve as owner and final author of responses to public-sector RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs across Canada and the US.
- Build compliance matrices, manage full proposal lifecycles end-to-end, and ensure on-time, compliant submissions.
- Coordinate input from SMEs across product, implementation, security, and finance; translate technical detail into evaluator-ready prose.
- Develop win themes and differentiators tailored to each agency's stated priorities.
- Leverage AI tools to accelerate proposal workflows while maintaining accuracy and compliance.
- Maintain a reusable content library, past-performance references, and proposal templates.
- Deliver tailored product demonstrations mapped to each prospect's specific operational needs.
- Plan, host, and execute remote product events and live demos end to end.
- Build and deliver executive-level presentations that move opportunities forward.
What you'll bring:
- 3+ years in a customer-facing sales or business development role, with a demonstrated record of closing new business and exceeding targets.
- Substantial hands-on RFP/proposal experience; ownership of complex public-sector responses with a track record of wins is a strong asset.
- Strong product demonstration and presentation skills, including facilitating live client-facing sessions.
- Familiarity with US and/or Canadian public procurement processes is an asset.
- Comfort with AI tools applied to selling, research, and proposal workflows.
- Experience with a CRM tool and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills — able to translate technical capability into clear, persuasive prose under deadline pressure.
- APMP certification or formal proposal-management training is an asset.
- Bilingual English/French is an asset given our Canadian public-sector work.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
