Camis is looking for a full time Hardware & Connectivity Specialist to join our team. The Hardware & Connectivity Specialist is responsible for the Research & Development (R&D) of all hardware for field implementations. The position will also assist the Desktop Support team with evaluating hardware relating to new and existing corporate and or client implementations. They will also ensure testing environments are set up properly in all Camis office locations. The position will also assist the Implementation Specialists with preparing hardware for park trips, training employees for annual park maintenance visits, completing last mile circuit installs, assist with monitoring and support of host connectivity within LogMeIn Central. You will also be required to assist the Implementation Specialists with providing quality WAN up time reporting via Cradlepoint NetCloud and resolving unstable connectivity for all Camis owned and managed connections, as well as ISP provided redundant connections

What you'll be doing:

  • Provide support for and manage all VenTek Kiosks in the field at all client locations where implemented
  • Evaluating and testing new hardware within our UAT environment
    • R&D on compete mobility solutions such as mPOS style printers, mobile payment devices
    • Network and stand-alone printers, desktops, laptops, tablets, payment devices and peripherals
  • Assisting with installing new Internet circuits and completing circuit moves (if required)
  • Training employees for annual park maintenance visits Spring and Fall
  • Completing tasks related to implementations and training
  • Participating in resolving Help Desk tickets related to field issues involving connectivity, hardware, and configuration
  • Ensure LAB and UAT testing environments are set up properly in all offices
  • Ensuring hardware selected for evaluation are asset tracked and properly set up and secured during the trial period
  • Assist Implementation Specialists on R&D of all field hardware ensuring hardware selection matches all Client implementation requirements
  • Research and evaluate hardware that focus towards innovation and improvement on products and processes
  • Assist in evaluating software that allows for the simplified management of remote field hardware
  • Assisting the Operations and F&CI Team in managing assets of all hardware for field, including managing supply levels
  • Travel required for up to 2 weeks at a time: Duration dependent on whether the work involved is for a special client visit or park trip
  • Time of year: Office quarterly visits while Park trips could be Spring or Fall
  • Perform on-site visits to customer locations for upgrades and maintenance, documenting any changes upon return

    What you will bring to the role:

    • A Technical diploma or degree in computer science or equivalent certifications
    • 1-3 years of technical support in enterprise or medium-sized business supporting Active Directory
    • 1-3 years of experience supporting WAN, LAN or any equivalent combination of skills, knowledge, and ability
    • Have an intermediate to advanced level of connectivity and network troubleshooting knowledge
    • Knowledge of remote computer set-ups is a strong asset
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Highly organized with time management & managing multiple projects
    • Ability to problem-solve, reason, and analyze information
    • Basic accounting for procurement needs
    • A full and valid operator's/driver's license is required
