BIOVECTRA has an opening for a Senior Scientist, Quality Projects. This is a permanent, full-time position located in Charlottetown, PEI.

The candidate will be responsible for:

  • Reviewing and approving validation/transfer and qualification data, protocols and final reports.
  • Supervising and leading an analytical chemistry team, including performance feedback and development.
  • Serving as the analytical chemistry subject matter expert (SME) to customer/regulatory audits.
  • Participating in new client onboarding.
  • Participating in internal and external audits.
  • Performing analyses using instrumental techniques such as: HPLC, GC, KF, UV-Vis, FT-IR, Particle Size determination, TOC.
  • Performing classical bench analytical chemistry such as titrations and gravimetric assays.
  • Maintaining accurate, real-time records of all lab activities.
  • Following SOPs to test and release Raw Material, In-Process, Intermediate and Final Product samples.
  • Opening, appropriately escalating, and helping to manage quality events.
  • Writing protocols for validation/transfer and participating in the execution.
  • Writing validation/transfer reports.
  • Writing, reviewing and initiating revisions to SOPs.
  • Initiating and reviewing document changes.
  • Performing facility inspections as part of general compliance activities.
  • Participating in quality investigations and CAPA activities.
  • Participating in internal and external audits.
  • Providing training to other personnel as required.

The successful candidate for this position should have:

  • Post-Secondary Education with a focus in BSc in Chemistry (or related field).
  • Five years relevant experience.
  • Proficient communicator, both written and oral.
  • Able to work well as part of a team.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Critical thinker.
  • Effective presentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong ability to negotiate based on sound judgement and scientific knowledge.
  • Ability to effectively interpret and analyze data to make investigative decisions.
  • Excellent leadership and delegation skills.
