We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Buyer / Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will blend procurement responsibilities with data analysis to optimize purchasing decisions, manage inventory levels, and support cost reduction initiatives. This position is ideal for a self-starter with strong analytical capabilities and a solid understanding of procurement and supply chain operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Procurement & Analysis:
- Analyze purchasing, spend, and inventory data to support sourcing strategies and cost reduction initiatives
- Develop reports and insights to support forecasting, planning, and procurement decision-making
Supplier Management & Negotiation:
- Manage supplier relationships, pricing discussions, and contract negotiations
- Evaluate supplier performance and identify risks related to supply continuity
Operational Support:
- Support day-to-day procurement and material planning activities
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align purchasing activities with operational requirements
Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels to balance service levels, cost efficiency, and working capital objectives
- Support inventory planning and optimization initiatives
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes, reporting, and system utilization
- Support Lean methodologies and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Economics, or a related field
- Two to five years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or material planning roles
- Advanced proficiency in ERP planning systems, particularly Odoo
Experience with SAP or JD Edwards is considered an asset - Demonstrated ability to manage spend, inventory levels, and interpret data to support cost reduction initiatives
- Proven ability to negotiate supplier pricing and contracts
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder collaboration skills
Excellent time management, organizational, and strategic thinking abilities
