Overall Role Mandate:
The Sales Director (SD) will be responsible for driving sales functions and operations for their assigned team. This individual is responsible for achieving monthly, quarterly and annual sales goals, developing the sales channel partner, building strategic business relationships with channel partner executive personnel, and providing vision for sales strategies and their execution. The SD’s success is defined by managing the productivity of Regional Sales Managers (RSMs) while optimizing costs to meet or exceeds predetermined targets.
What We Are Looking For:
- University or College degree in Business or Equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of direct work experience in a managerial capacity.
- Detailed knowledge of Channel Partner sales and marketing organization, culture, and relationships.
- Strong experience in all aspects of sales, including growth strategies, distribution channel management, account development, and business planning.
- Excellent grasp of brand building and articulation of value propositions.
- A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
- Excellent teamwork and team building skills.
- Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with corporate departments, key business partners, and customers.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and direct sales forces, both channel and direct.
- Demonstrated knowledge of marketing and advertising theories and practices.
- Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.
- Experience creating incentives and compensation plans.
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity suite.
Your role will encompass the following:
- Devise and deploy sales goals and objectives for assigned teams, including the preparation of sales quotas and budgets.
- Integrate and align sales strategies with available talent, processes, IT systems, and other areas to increase sales force capability and success.
- Develop and implement monthly/ quarterly and/or annual sales plans, policies, and programs for all RSMs.
- Manage the activities and performance of all sales units, including regional managers and associated teams.
- Create training and development plans for RSMs.
- Conduct analysis to manage sales performance against corporate objectives and market developments.
- In conjunction with Marketing, plan and execute trade show appearances.
- Develop and implement new distribution strategies and other growth opportunities.
- Create product segmentation strategies where needed to maximize business opportunities across various sales channels.
- Develop, manage, and nurture existing channel relationships.
- Communicate brand identity internally to pertinent business units, key business partners, and the customer base.
- Collaborate with the Sales executive leadership team to develop short- and long-term strategic plans, including the preparation of annual business plans.
- Provide input from Sales – including growth, competitive analysis, market trends, and business environment – for strategic planning processes.
- Develop execution strategies and tactics to support strategic plans at the divisional and regional levels.
- Conduct regular analysis on pricing effectiveness and recurring trends; create actionable item lists based on findings.
- Conduct and provide to senior management monthly sales forecasts and weekly and/or monthly status reports.
- Ensure the timely and accurate updating of your teams sales tracking and forecasting information in CRM.
- Must attain 100% of your allotted sales targets while maintaining customer churn at below 1% on units sold.
- In conjunction with your RSMs and internal operational and support stakeholders, work with key accounts to ensure customer satisfaction as well as drive deeper adoption of the Fleet Complete platform through cross and up selling.
