High-Level Overview
Our Operations team is searching for a motivated, self-starting Disbursement Operations Specialist to join us in Calgary. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional critical thinking skills, flexibility to adapt to evolving needs, and an unwavering attention to detail. This individual will thrive on investigating complex payment inquiries, leveraging available resources to solve disbursement-related challenges, and quickly grasping complex global banking requirements. Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities are essential.
What you'll do:
- Disbursement Resolution & Optimization:
- Investigate and resolve all outstanding disbursement issues.
- Proactively identify trends in payment rejections and collaborate with the Operations Lead and engineering teams to implement solutions.
- Continuously enhance disbursement processes while ensuring adherence to foundation and regulatory compliance.
- Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication:
- Maintain strong working relationships with key Operations and Support stakeholders.
- Partner closely with our banking partners to address outstanding payment questions.
- Communicate critical issues and potential resolution strategies to management across functional areas.
- Participate in stakeholder meetings, offering insights to optimize processes.
- Follow up on client and nonprofit inquiries by coordinating with internal teams.
- Analysis & Continuous Improvement:
- Conduct ad-hoc reporting and analysis, managing special projects and other duties as needed.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, focusing on positive impact for our clients and nonprofits.
What you'll bring:
- Education/Experience: A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education/experience.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills:
- Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to "think outside the box."
- Strong analytical skills with the capacity to process information accurately.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Comfortable operating in a high-uncertainty environment, demonstrating the ability to navigate ambiguous processes and proactively figure out solutions.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Proficiency in the MS Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel.
- Desirable: Experience using an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, such as Oracle ERP, is desirable.
- Asset: Experience with data visualization or Business Intelligence tools
- Asset: A strong technical mindset and experience leveraging AI for process improvement.
- Asset: Previous experience with global disbursements or international payment processing.
- Organizational & Interpersonal Skills:
- Excellent organizational skills, capable of managing multiple deliverables under tight deadlines.
- Independent working skills.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey findings effectively to non-technical audiences.
