Senior HR Generalist

What You'll Do:
- Collaborate across the HR team to support the rollout, testing, and execution of HR processes and cross-functional initiatives as BenchSci evolves.
- Identify process gaps and proactively recommend operational improvements that enhance accuracy, speed, scalability, and the overall employee and manager experience.
- Refine and automate core HR workflows to reduce manual work and increase reliability.
- Drive the review and creation of HR policies, ensuring they balance compliance requirements while remaining clear, approachable, and culture-aligned.
- Support the delivery of HR reporting, transforming data into actionable analytics and insights that drive business outcomes.
- Manage the end-to-end process of employee leaves and accommodations, acting as an expert to guide employees and managers to create a seamless transition.
- Partner with HR leadership to ensure compliance across programs, global employment requirements, and evolving legislation — raising risks early and supporting smooth implementation.
- Support the operational delivery of and updates to Total Rewards programs — including compensation and equity.
- Maintain compensation bands, job architecture, and supporting tools, keeping documentation clean, up to date, and easy for managers to use.
- Own the execution of our annual compensation cycles — including salary reviews and equity refreshers — ensuring accuracy, consistency, and an excellent user experience.
- Support global mobility and complex employment cases, coordinating with external vendors and EORs to ensure a compliant, seamless employee experience.
What Success Looks Like (6–12 Months)
- Friction is removed from HR operations, and manual processes are reduced through better workflow design, documentation, and AI & automation.
- You have helped move the HR team beyond basic reporting to meaningful storytelling through mature people analytics.
- Compensation cycles are executed with high accuracy and strong cross-functional trust.
- Compensation bands and job architecture are implemented, understood, and adopted.
You’ll Thrive In This Role If:
- You bring 4+ years of experience in the HR space, with at least 2 years in a generalist or operations-focused role.
- You have proven experience supporting benefits design, compensation cycles, and compensation frameworks. Experience in global mobility is a strong asset.
- You possess demonstrated project management skills and the ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously.
- You’re comfortable working with partial information, creating stable processes where none existed, and rapidly prioritizing system fixes alongside strategic projects.
- You see messy processes as puzzles to solve. You enjoy hands-on execution and taking real ownership of outcomes.
- You can move seamlessly between calculating complex compensation models and ensuring smooth operations. This requires strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to develop/update reports and modeling tools.
- You have a strong interest or experience in automation, AI, or process improvement — an ability to work “smarter” and focus on high-impact work.
- You naturally step up to mentor and guide peers on best practices for data management, compensation procedures, and compliance.
