We are looking for a Scientist II, Data Extraction to join one of our growing Cross Functional Data Extraction teams! Reporting to the CFT Data Manager or Data Extraction CFT Lead, the goal of this team is to apply our technology and vast data to solve some of the most challenging problems in pre-clinical research. As a Scientist II, Data Extraction, you will work with your team and the CFT Application teams to apply your scientific research knowledge as a subject matter expert to identify solutions to real-world scientific problems, while also identifying areas of development for both our technology and data depth.
We are welcoming applicants from Canada, the US and the UK for this position.
You Will:
- Generate training set for ML modelling.
- Help with the labelling of text and image data collected from publications.
- QA data from ML models and data pipelines to identify deficiencies and to develop strategies to improve overall data collection alongside engineering.
- Conduct ongoing research to improve data collection for existing and new applications.
- Develop new ways to apply our ML technology to design experiments, surface scientific insights and improve our value offering to customers.
- Keep up with current biomedical research to guide technology development
You Have:
- PhD or MSc in life sciences (e.g. Molecular Biology, Pharmacology, etc.).
- 3+ years of relevant bench experience.
- Extensive knowledge and/or bench experience in experimental biology research techniques, including but not limited to: Pre-clinical studies, Drug discovery, Genetics, In vivo studies, Immunological studies, Functional assays, Microbiology.
- Comfortable with open-ended tasks.
- Interest in using/prompting LLMs to manipulate data and achieve the desired output.
- Experience working with large data sets and working with data processing tools such as Excel, SQL and Python/R
