About Staffbase

We inspire people to achieve great things together. Our mission is to help organizations unlock the power of inspirational communication. Our award-winning communications channels - intranet, employee app and email - deliver experiences that drive engagement and inspire hearts and minds.

We’re headquartered in Chemnitz, Germany, with offices in many locations throughout the world, including New York, London, Berlin and Dresden. Our international team counts more than 750 employees from 45+ nationalities and we have a growing base of 2200+ customers that want to transform their employee experience. We are rapidly scaling, post-Series E ($115 million funding), have strong-growing revenue, and our customers love us.

Staffbase is hiring a Technical Design Architect to help some of the world’s most well-known brands reimagine the way they communicate with their employees. In this role, you’ll blend technical design expertise with customer-centric consulting to create beautifully branded, accessible, and intuitive internal communication experiences using the Staffbase platform.

You’ll be a trusted partner to new and existing customers—guiding them through design workshops, UI/UX best practices, and front-end implementation ideas to ensure their comms channels are both visually engaging and aligned to their brand goals. From concept to delivery, your work will sit at the intersection of strategy, creativity, and product enablement.

Important: This is a hybrid role based in our Minneapolis office. Core in-office days are Tuesday through Thursday, with a minimum expectation of 2 in-office day per week during those core days.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead design consultations with customers to align product setup with their visual identity, audience goals, and content strategy.
  • Create thoughtful mockups and design proposals that take into account user experience, accessibility, and technical feasibility.
  • Customize client applications using front-end technologies (HTML/CSS/JavaScript), in alignment with Staffbase’s feature set and best practices.
  • Facilitate design and comms workshops with customer stakeholders and internal teams.
Partner cross-functionally with Customer Success, Sales, and Implementation to ensure a seamless onboarding experience.
Contribute to internal process improvements and advocate for the customer’s voice in product conversations.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of Staffbase platform capabilities and how they map to design use cases.

What you need to be successful

  • 5+ years in visual design, consulting, front-end development, or a hybrid of those roles.
  • A strategic mindset and strong customer orientation—you can go deep with design teams or simplify concepts for business users.
  • A portfolio or track record of start-to-finish design implementations with measurable impact.
  • Strong experience with tools like Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, and front-end frameworks like Tailwind CSS.
  • Working knowledge of HTML/CSS/JS and an appreciation for performance, accessibility, and usability.
  • Experience guiding enterprise clients through the creative process and implementation lifecycle.
  • A passion for translating communication goals into beautiful, functional, and brand-aligned user experiences.
