What’s the job about?

Auvik is looking for a results-driven DevOps & Engineering Manager to lead our DevOps and Agents teams. In this role, you’ll drive automation-first practices, simplify complex infrastructure, and scale our systems with confidence. You’ll combine hands-on technical leadership with strategic direction—mentoring engineers, guiding architecture decisions, and ensuring our AWS environments remain reliable, cost-efficient, and future-ready.

What will I do in this role?

  • Lead and Mentor: Grow and inspire a high-performing DevOps team, shifting the culture from reactive firefighting to proactive, automation-first engineering.
  • Simplify Complexity: Streamline existing infrastructure, consolidate tools, and document systems to reduce duplication and cognitive load.
  • Champion Automation: Replace manual processes with automation, enforce infrastructure-as-code practices, and improve system reliability through CI/CD, observability, and monitoring.
  • Own AWS Infrastructure: Design, optimize, and maintain resilient, scalable, and cost-efficient AWS environments—including EC2 fleets, S3 storage, MSK clusters, and Kubernetes.
  • Optimize Costs: Implement governance and strategies to reduce AWS spend without sacrificing performance.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with software engineering, security, and product teams to ensure infrastructure supports business needs, and communicate trade-offs effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Successful candidates will have experience or a willingness to rapidly learn the following:

  • Proven leadership experience managing software development, DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure teams
  • Deep, hands-on expertise with AWS services (EC2, S3, MSK, Redshift, Kubernetes, VPC, IAM, observability tooling) — AWS certifications are a strong plus
  • Strong skills in infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK), automation, and container orchestration
  • A track record of simplifying systems and reducing unnecessary complexity
  • Knowledge of AWS cost models and experience optimizing cloud spend
  • Technical depth in systems engineering, Linux administration, and cloud-native architecture
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to anticipate issues before they arise
  • Excellent communication skills—capable of inspiring teams and simplifying complex concepts

Are there bonus points?

  • Experience with self-hosted Kubernetes operations at scale
  • Background in hybrid cloud or multi-region infrastructure design
  • Experience optimizing Reserved Instances and Savings Plans on AWS
  • Demonstrated success in reducing operational overhead through automation
