We are seeking an experienced Financial Analyst to join our Finance team at Aspect Biosystems. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting budget planning, forecasting, monthly operational and financial reviews, project reporting, and various ad hoc projects. The successful candidate will leverage strong business acumen, deep financial expertise, and excellent communication skills to build effective partnerships at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive financial modeling, analytics, and general financial support to the organization.
  • Lead the monthly financial forecasting and annual budgeting processes, including the development, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of forecasting models to ensure accurate financial plans.
  • Prepare financial analyses and forecasts on company projects and support external reporting and communication related to those.
  • Lead month-end variance analysis and operational reviews, providing insights on financial performance, key drivers, changes versus plan, and identify upcoming opportunities and risks.
  • Collaborate with leadership to review actual results, budget variances, and forecast.
  • Improve financial knowledge across the business by effectively communicating financial concepts that can be easily understood by all stakeholders.
  • Responsible for the development and improvement of tools and dashboards for business users to clearly understand their performance and opportunities.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and outliers to assist management with decision making
  • Proactively seek opportunities to improve accuracy and efficiency of processes and deliverables.
  • Provide support for any ad-hoc analysis projects, modelling, and presentation materials as required.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field;
  • Professional Experience: 3-5 years of progressive FP&A experience. Experience in the biotechnology industry would be an asset.
  • Technology Skills: Expert proficiency and in Microsoft Excel, experience using NetSuite is an asset.

The hiring range for this role is $72,000 - $103,000, annually. Our ranges are based on market data. Offered salaries will be based on a combination of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience. For candidates who exceed role requirements, we are open to exploring above-range offers. Note that base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at Aspect.
