WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Perform mammalian cell culture tasks including isolating primary cells, expanding cells, changing media, counting cells, and collecting samples.
- Performing in vitro plate reader-based assays such as ELISAs.
- Performing microscopy-based assays to examine cell viability, cell distribution within bioprinted tissues, characterize cells using immunofluorescence and immunohistochemistry.
- Perform flow cytometry analysis to characterize primary mammalian cells.
- Execute scientific studies to support the printing of hepatic bioprinted tissue therapeutics.
- Support the execution of in vivo animal studies, with the preparation of cultured cells biomaterials, and culture medias.
- Drive key program milestones and direction by analyzing data, interpreting results, and presenting information through experimental reports and presentations.
- Align cell culture approaches with scale-up and manufacturing teams to support the development of therapies.
- Maintain clear and rigorous experimental records, including electronic laboratory notebooks.
- Pro-actively investigate and improve existing methods and techniques.
- Contribute technical expertise in cell biology to shape therapeutic strategies and programs.
WHO YOU ARE
- Education + Professional Experience: MSc in cell biology, or similar discipline OR BSc + 1 year of experience in a biotech or commercial setting.
- Cell Culture Experience: An expert in sterile technique with > 1 year of experience with mammalian cell culture. Experience in 3D, spheroid, organoid, or hydrogel cell culture, primary or stem cell derived hepatocytes, magnetic cell separation techniques, flow cytometry, and microscopy-based assay techniques would be an asset.
- Technical Skill Set: > 1 year experience with plate reader-based assays and ELISAs is required.
- Detail-Oriented: You have outstanding attention to detail and experimental and process rigour. You take pride in your work and strive for excellence.
