Hi there, we’re Article. 👋 Since 2013, we have been redefining the furniture industry one sofa at a time, it’s not easy — it requires solving challenging, meaningful problems. This is where you come in, as a Photographer, you’ll capture high-quality imagery that brings our products to life and supports how customers experience our brand online.

Please note: this is a 12-month fixed-term contract.

Why We Need You:

Our Photo & Video Production team is growing - we’re expanding our in-house studio capacity to support an increasing volume of product launches and creative projects.

This role supports our broader goal of delivering accurate, compelling product imagery that improves the customer experience and drives confident purchasing decisions.

This 12-month fixed term contract will help us scale our asset output while maintaining strong visual consistency and quality.

In your first few months, you’ll get familiar with our studio workflows, tools, and creative standards. Within a year, you’ll be confidently leading smaller shoots and contributing to larger productions with a high level of consistency and ownership.

About the Photo & Video Production Team:

Our team produces high-quality photography that supports eCommerce, marketing, and brand storytelling. We work closely with Product, Creative, and Marketing partners to deliver imagery that is both visually compelling and accurate.

You’ll collaborate daily with photographers, stylists, art directors, and producers in a fast-paced, high-volume studio environment.

We are a hybrid team but the Photographer is typically in our Vancouver office 5 days per week.

What You’ll Do

You’ll be part of a collaborative studio team delivering photography across a range of product and lifestyle shoots.

Photography Execution
  • Capture studio photography across white background and lifestyle or set-based shoots
  • Translate creative briefs into strong visual outputs with guidance from Art Directors and Senior Photographers
  • Own smaller-scale shoots from setup through capture and delivery
  • Support larger or more complex productions led by the Senior Photographer
  • Maintain consistency in lighting, composition, color, and overall image quality
  • Shoot high-volume merchandising assets while upholding brand standards
Pre-Production & Shoot Support
  • Prepare equipment, lighting setups, and shooting environments
  • Review briefs and shot lists to ensure alignment before shoots
  • Collaborate with stylists, set decorators, and producers to support execution
  • Contribute to artboard preparation for planning and internal reviews
Post-Production & Asset Delivery
  • Deliver clean, color-corrected files for post-production workflows
  • Partner with the Photo Editing team to ensure smooth handoff and consistency
  • Maintain organized file management and delivery standards
Team & Collaboration
  • Work closely with the Manager, Photo & Video Production and Senior Photographer to execute creative direction
  • Collaborate with Art Directors and cross-functional partners to meet project goals
  • Build strong working relationships on set and during planning
  • Contribute to a collaborative, solutions-focused team environment
  • Share feedback and ideas to improve workflows and output
Studio & Equipment
  • Maintain and operate photography equipment to industry standards
  • Support overall studio organization and readiness
  • Assist with testing and implementing new tools, techniques, or equipment
  • We use G Suite (Gmail, Sheets, Google Docs, Meet, etc) to work and Slack to collaborate and communicate, with your choice of Mac or PC device.

Who You Are

  • 3–6 years of professional photography experience (studio, commercial, or product-focused preferred)
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating technical execution and consistency
Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in Capture One and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong understanding of studio lighting systems and setups
  • Experience working in production-driven studio environments
Product & Visual Acumen:
  • Strong eye for composition, lighting, and color accuracy
  • Ability to execute creative direction with consistency and attention to detail
  • Understanding of how lighting and capture impact final image output

Working Style:
  • You’re detail-oriented and take pride in producing high-quality work
  • You’re adaptable and can problem-solve in a fast-paced studio environment

Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to travel across Canada and the United States for off-site shoots, as needed
  • Legally able to work in Canada
  • Completion of a criminal background check

  • The salary range is $65,000 to $85,000. The starting salary will be determined by your transferable skills, knowledge, work experience, and the hiring team’s budget, which is based on business needs, market compensation data, and internal equity
