And as the As Sourcing Manager - Raw Materials (Leather & Fabric), you will be responsible for sourcing, supplier development, and ensuring the quality, cost efficiency, and timely availability of raw materials to support our production needs. This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Senior Sourcing Manager of Upholstery.
Why We Need You:
In the Sourcing department, This role is responsible for establishing and leading the sourcing strategy for leather and fabric materials. The Sourcing Manager - Raw Materials (Leather & Fabric) will be responsible for identifying, developing, and managing supplier relationships, negotiating cost-effective agreements, and ensuring raw materials meet Article’s quality and sustainability standards.
The role will serve as the primary point of contact for Raw Material (Leather & Fabric) Sourcing across Sourcing, Product Development, and Supply Chain teams while driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supplier performance and material availability.

**This role will require you to travel internationally at least 4-6 times a year.

What You'll Do:
- Supplier Development & Management
- Identify and onboard new suppliers for leather and fabric to ensure a robust, high-quality, and cost-effective supply base.
- Develop and implement a supplier evaluation and performance management framework, ensuring alignment with quality, cost, and sustainability objectives.
- Foster strong partnerships with suppliers through regular engagement, collaboration, and continuous improvement initiatives.
2. Strategic Sourcing & Negotiation
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies that align with business needs and cost targets.
- Lead contract negotiations with suppliers to secure the best pricing, terms, and lead times while ensuring quality compliance.
- Work closely with Product Development to source innovative materials that align with design and performance expectations.
3. Raw Material Planning & Optimization
- Collaborate with internal teams to forecast material demand and ensure suppliers can meet production schedules.
- Implement efficient inventory management strategies to optimize raw material availability while minimizing excess stock.
- Proactively identify risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies to prevent disruptions.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary liaison for Raw Material Sourcing across Sourcing, Product Development, and Supply Chain teams.
- Provide regular reporting on supplier performance, market trends, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Partner with Logistics and Operations teams to ensure smooth inbound material flow and resolve any supply chain bottlenecks.
5. Quality Assurance & Sustainability
- Ensure all sourced materials meet Article’s quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Drive sustainability initiatives by sourcing eco-friendly and responsibly produced materials.
- Work with suppliers to implement process improvements that enhance material performance and reduce environmental impact.
Who You Are:
- 10+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in raw materials (leather, fabric, or textiles).
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
- Proven experience in supplier negotiation, development, and contract management.
- In-depth knowledge of upholstery leather and fabric markets, including key cost drivers and strategic sourcing practices.
- Experience with Social and Environmental Responsibility standards and best practices is an advantage.
