We’re looking for an experienced and hands-on Operations Manager, reporting directly to the president, to lead and scale our operational infrastructure. This role will focus on manufacturing, supply chain, inventory management, R&D operations, and logistics—laying the groundwork for our continued growth as a cleantech innovator.

Key Responsibilities:

Manufacturing Planning & Execution

  • Collaborate with leadership to define production goals and acceptable risk levels.
  • Build and maintain production and supply plans that align with growth targets.
  • Manage production SOPs and ensure timely, high-quality output.
  • Develop and execute Cence’s hybrid manufacturing strategy (outsourced + internal).
  • Select, onboard, and manage external manufacturing partners.
  • Work with engineering to implement a new product introduction (NPI) process.

Lab R&D Operations

  • Support daily operations of the R&D lab.
  • Ensure lab safety procedures and inventory of development parts and tools.
  • Coordinate prototype builds and testing with engineering teams.
  • Manage component sourcing and stock for ongoing development work.

Supply Chain & Vendor Management

  • Ensure timely procurement of components and sub-assemblies.
  • Collaborate with engineering on vendor selection and qualification.
  • Manage vendor POs and maintain accurate delivery tracking.

Inventory Control

  • Oversee receiving, inspections, and inventory tracking.
  • Maintain optimal levels of components, sub-assemblies, and final products.
  • Coordinate inventory releases to production and shipping teams.

Shipping & Logistics

  • Manage packaging, labeling, and shipments to end customers.
  • Handle logistics with vendors and coordinate shipping schedules.
  • Build and maintain a return and replacement process for products.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in operations, manufacturing, or supply chain roles, ideally in a hardware/technology environment.
  • Proven ability to scale operational processes in a startup or scale-up context.
  • Degree in Business, Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field is a bonus.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with production planning, vendor negotiation, and partner management.
  • Exposure to electronics or electro-mechanical product development.
  • Proficiency in operations software or ERP/MRP systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a pragmatic problem-solving mindset.
  • Experience collaborating with engineering teams and external partners.
