About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join our Engineering Services organization at Arctic Wolf Networks. This role will lead teams responsible for delivering standardized tooling, services, and development lab infrastructure that enables our core development teams to efficiently develop, test, and ship product releases.

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join our team! This role will lead all aspects of development activities within the team. This means that they ensure all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with the organization's established policies and objectives. They work closely with R&D Leadership, Product Management and UX to ensure the delivery of highly user friendly, top-quality software that delights our customers. A Manager can have multiple team and technical leads reporting to them.

Responsibilities Include

· Manage team(s) that will deliver high quality, innovative software solutions, in collaboration with stakeholders such as architects, developers, product managers and UX

· Execute the Product roadmap

· Support the team by providing direction, clarity and removing obstacles

· Foster innovation and technical excellence

· Promote continuous improvement

· Recruit, develop, and retain top engineering talent through effective coaching and career development planning

· Facilitate team rituals including sprint planning, retrospectives, and demos to ensure continuous improvement and effective project delivery

· Ensure teams are highly motivated, performing well, and delivering work on time.

· Conduct regular one-on-ones to provide coaching and support career development

· Lead recruitment efforts to fill and expand team roles with highly qualified talent

Once a year we hold a department-wide Hackathon, teaming up across all R&D teams over four days to collaborate and build cool ideas outside the normal project scope. While innovation is the focus, some of these ideas do make it into our products.

About You

Required Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

· 5+ years of experience in software development with 3+ years in engineering management

· Proven experience managing multiple agile teams and implementing agile methodologies

· Strong understanding of CI/CD tools, practices, and modern DevOps principles

· Experience with quality engineering tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, or similar testing platforms

· Demonstrated ability to work with stakeholders across different organizational levels

Additional Technologies

Experience with these technologies and concepts will help the successful candidate best integrate with the team, and provide an additional level of insight when prioritizing and communicating:

· Prometheus, AlertManager, Cloudwatch, Grafana

· AWS CloudWatch (metrics, logs, alarms)

· Git, GitHub, Jenkins, Buildkite

· IAC tooling like CloudFormation or Terraform

· Kubernetes / EKS

· Understanding of SRE based patterns like error budgets and SLOs
