Senior Installer Engineer
As a Senior Installer Engineer within Arctic Wolf, you will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining a suite of installer packages (e.g. InstallShield, WiX, MSI, PKG, DMG, RPM, DEB) that can enable and ensure seamless deployment, updates, and removal of our software products.
Required Qualifications
5 or more years of professional experience as a Installer Engineer, Software/Application Packaging Engineering, Software Release/Deployment Engineer or equivalent role
Experience with PowerShell/Bash/Shell Scripting and Python
Experience with developing/maintaining installers and application packaging such as InstallShield, WiX, MSI, PKG, DMG, RPM, DEB
Experience with CI/CD tooling and best practices (e.g. Jenkins, GitHub)
Experience working with or leading an Agile/Scrum team
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with AWS/vSphere/Azure
Experience working with a security product or endpoint client team
About the role
You’ll be working as an Senior Installer Engineer on our Endpoint Security - Production Engineering team, responsible for ensuring a streamlined, reliable and secure installation process for our end customers.
Some of your day-to-day responsibilities will be:
Design, develop and maintain installer packages for Windows, macOS and Linux platforms
Automate and script installation, upgrade, and uninstallation processes
Troubleshoot and resolve packaging and deployment issues
Collaborate with software developers, QA, release and product teams to ensure smooth deployments
Validate Installer packages in various environments to ensure reliability, compatibility, security and compliance to organizational standards
Build runbooks and documentation for internal teams and end users
Evaluate and implement new relevant technologies and tools
Mentor junior engineers
Assist and contribute to intra/inter team planning

You’re a talented and detail-oriented professional with a passion for designing and delivering seamless software installation experiences across Windows, macOS and Linux environments. You possess deep expertise in application packaging technology and are adept leveraging the applicable coding/scripting language to create, automate, troubleshoot and optimize deployment workflows. Your experience and analytical skills enable you to resolve complex issues efficiently while your collaborative mindset ensures effective communication within your team and across cross-functional teams. You are committed to continuous learning and staying current with emerging technologies while maintaining high standards of security, documentation, and process improvement in all projects you undertake.
