About The Role

The Quality Engineering Team (QET) serves as a center of excellence promoting a shift-left approach and standardized process, tools, and frameworks to enhance the overall quality of core applications & services across multiple Arctic Wolf Network Cyber Security SaaS product offerings (Managed Risk, Managed Detection & Response, Incident Response, and Managed Awareness). We partner closely with R&D leadership across each product line and act as a center of expertise, best practice, and continuous improvement developing joint quality.

We are looking for a passionate Principal SDET Quality Engineer to help architect and build scalable test automation frameworks & strategies that will be leveraged across multiple product areas. This principal engineer role will champion innovation through test automation and best practice to improve quality, efficiency, and reliability. The ideal candidate has developed strategic visions, automation roadmaps, and built multiple stable, scalable, and reliable automation frameworks that have been running successfully and provided extensive quality benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Evangelize strategic quality initiatives & automation strategies with key stakeholders and R&D leadership.

  • Lead targeted quality projects & collaborate with product teams to ensure successful implementation.

  • Lead the evaluation and selection of new automation tools, test tools, or test frameworks that will be leveraged to improve product quality and reduce test automation gaps.

  • Collaborate directly with QE/automation engineers to drive complex E2E automation solutions and influence decisions and outcomes across all teams.

  • Represent QET at engineering roundtables, joint R&D planning sessions, brown bags, etc. to align engineering & quality practices across R&D technical leadership.

  • Directly consult with a product team as required to assist with designing & building an optimal test automation solution in that area.

  • Coach and mentor QE or automaton engineers and provide input to leadership on development needs or growth opportunities for team members.

  • Stay updated on the latest testing methodologies, tools, and industry best practices to continuously improve quality process at Arctic Wolf.

Required Skills and Experience:

An ideal candidate for this role should meet these minimum requirements:

  • MS/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline

  • 10+ years relevant experience in roles spanning quality engineering, test automation, infrastructure automation, and/or software development in test (SDET)

  • 5+ years in hands-on leadership roles designing and implementing quality & automation strategies across product lines.

  • Strong domain understanding of QA methodologies & can apply those methodologies in test plan/test strategy development.

  • Experience leading QA activities in a fast-paced Agile development team, with hands-on experiences in analyzing requirements, converting requirements into meaningful test scenarios, and implementing effective test cases and harnesses accordingly.

  • Proficient in multiple common test automation frameworks and/or tooling (Pytest, Robot, Cucumber, xUnit, NUnit, Jasime, Ginkgo, Testify, TestNG, Selenium, Cypress, etc.)

  • Proficient in one or more high-level programming languages (Java, GoLang, C#, Python, etc.)

  • Experience in AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm, Harness, Nomad, or Consul is plus.

Interview Process:

Initial Candidate Pre-Screening: A recruiter will contact you to briefly discuss your work history and provide an overview of Arctic Wolf.

Engineering Screening Interview(s): An R&D executive and/or manager will connect to provide more detail context on the organization, team, role, and position. You will share your project and qualifications as it relates to the role you are applying for.

Engineering Technical Interview(s): One or more interviews will be scheduled with potential team members or key stakeholders this position would interface with. Be prepared to collaborate on a technical topics and problems. Also talk more about past projects and your career goals.

Final Engineering Interview: Will be scheduled as required with an R&D executive or manager. Objective is to discuss any final details on the position & opportunity, team & project context, and ensure a final fit with the organization.
