Location: Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, Canada (Hybrid - 3 days a week in office)
About the Role
The Senior IT Network Infrastructure Administrator is responsible for the security and daily administration of internal core data networks and corporate technology infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Participate in corporate network infrastructure administration
Triage incidents and requests for the network infrastructure team
Configure and support office technology including conference room technology, Zoom rooms, dashboards, iPad room schedulers, intercom devices, etc.
Configure and support network infrastructure including UPS systems, wireless access points, firewalls and switches
Participate in a network infrastructure on-call support rotation
Maintain and support network connectivity across various global locations
Plan, implement, and support projects for IT and other internal groups (E.g., Firewall upgrades, certificate management, network monitoring, hardware/software installations and new office build projects)
Document and diagram networks and systems, configurations, and changes
Triage, respond and manage IT service requests in a timely fashion including those related to IT infrastructure, cloud systems and corporate network connectivity
Provide escalation support for the IT helpdesk and IT network team
Perform network security, capacity and stability monitoring and respond to alerts
Collaborate virtually and in-person with team members across North America and around the world
Attend trainings, seminars, or webinars relevant to job role to enhance current knowledge and skill
Adaptable to changing business needs and requirements as the company evolves
Who You Are
General networking, security, and infrastructure fundamentals
Experience configuring firewall rules and switch ports on enterprise network hardware such as Cisco, Palo Alto and Juniper
Experience planning, configuring, installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting enterprise IT network systems
Understanding of technology and alignment with customer requirements including Wi-Fi infrastructure, cellular and VPN connectivity, authentication protocols, government compliance, and enterprise application integration
Familiar with the DevOps processes and Agile methodology
Minimum Qualifications
5 years of experience as a Network Administrator, Network Engineer, IT Consultant, or similar role
Advanced Linux /shell scripting knowledge
Knowledge in system troubleshooting and IT network security
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical and non-technical messages to all levels of staff
Self-motivated, with keen attention to detail and excellent judgment
Experience with AWS, virtual private cloud environments
Experience with automation tools such as Ansible or other configuration automation tools
Preferred Qualifications
BSc/BA in Computer Science or Information Technology
2+ years of experience with Juniper Junos® OS
2+ years of customer service experience
Experience with SASE tools and managing cloud based firewalls
Experience managing BIND or other DNS servers
Experience with Infoblox, BlueCat or other DNS, DHCP, and IP Address Management tools
Experience designing a highly available multi-region cloud environment
Experience with scripting languages and using Bash, Python, Perl, Git, and other DevOps tools
Experience using ServiceNow or other IT Service Management tools
Experience using Scrum framework and Agile methodology
Project Management Certification
