ABOUT THE ROLE

The Director of Product, MDR exists to drive strategy, roadmap and delivery for Arctic Wolf’s MDR solution. Candidates for this role must have deep subject matter expertise in service delivery models, security and MDR solutions as well as a track record for driving winning product strategies and product management processes. You should have a background in leading product managers in the ongoing delivery of the roadmap details and execution across all x-functional areas of the company, with particular emphasis on engineering deliverables. This candidate must also assemble and communicate key product requirements derived from the market, competitors, customers, and partners. This role includes interaction with ongoing strategic initiatives such as M & A activity to more transient projects necessary to drive process improvements, and other cross-functional planning with key stakeholders inside Arctic Wolf.

The Director of Product, MDR requires skills in customer-facing interaction and skills in GTM for revenue driving products. The projects under this leader are both technical and commercial in nature, requiring expert-level proficiency working on highly detailed and complex projects. This is a high visibility position that will be expected to build and lead cross-functional teams. Individuals in this role may participate in mentoring lower-level contributors and learn how to help grow others in their careers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Subject matter expert in Arctic Wolf’s MDR solution and go to source for strategy and roadmap information, including market and competitive dynamics.

  • Lead a team of product managers in driving execution of the MDR roadmap.

  • Provide cross functional analysis and interlock on dependencies across other Product & Engineering teams in support of execution of the MDR roadmap.

  • Deliver clear guidance on product packaging and pricing strategy needed for GTM success and growth in the MDR product line.

  • Drive agreement on “whole product” requirements across all x-functional groups within Arctic Wolf critical to the MDR solutions success, including marketing, services, support, finance, legal, operations and sales.

  • Conduct ongoing internal and external research with their team on customer requirements, market dynamics, competitive research, internal research and analysis to inform strategic direction and priorities for projects under their leadership.

  • Readily identify and resolves conflicts key stakeholders to ensure alignment of priorities and delivery expectations.

  • Contribute research projects, socialize learnings and contribute ideas in support of long-term product/service strategy decisions.

  • Required to brief senior product executives and other company leadership on the state of their respective initiatives.

  • Work with peers in product management and engineering to regularly identify and implement ways to improve collaboration and operational aspects of product and service.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

  • 3-6+ years in product management role required

  • Experience in cybersecurity is strongly preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Computer Science or Business Administration preferred)

  • Dedicated to managing and meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers; seeks first-hand customer information and uses it to inform feature definition and development; brings a cohesive perspective of the customers to their work; establishes and maintains effective relationships with customers and gains their trust and respect.

  • Knowledge and use of technical, market, and customer research methodologies.

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills for internal audiences of all levels and externally with partners and customers. They are a “trusted” voice of product.

  • Technical aptitude capable to comprehend target customer IT infrastructure, company products and services at a system, data flow and API level, the ins and outs of development, design, agile framework, software development, and scrum approach.

  • Contributor to the decomposition of strategic objectives into phased operational and tactical goals and measures.

  • Proficient decision making and decision follow-through - including defining a problem, identifying different alternatives, selecting, and implementing the best alternative, and evaluating results to success criteria.

  • Understands and suggests improvements to full-lifecycle product management. Is proficient with product definition, prioritization cross-functionally and through the Product Lifecycle and Software Delivery Lifecycle processes.

  • Contributes to major departmental goals and objectives.

  • Highly detail oriented and able to manage a large number of tasks from multiple requestors simultaneously.
