The Opportunity:

The Senior Manager - Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting will be an important member of the ApplyBoard Accounting team. In this role, you will be responsible for all Technical Accounting, Financial Reporting, & Global Revenue matters. You will report to the Corporate Controller, and this highly visible role will collaborate closely with senior leaders across the company. The Senior Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing IFRS and US GAAP policies and technical accounting positions, all required internal and external financial reporting, and also global revenue reporting.

The successful candidate for this position will play an instrumental role in the financial future of the company. This role requires a candidate who can quickly become familiar with the ApplyBoard business model in all markets, be able to apply this knowledge to analyze specific accounting transactions, and work with external auditors to conclude on key audit matters. What you’ll be doing everyday:

  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of all required financial statements

  • Build and manage the financial reporting process, including maintaining calendars/timelines, managing deadlines, and collecting and retaining documentation to support audit requirements.

  • Provide guidance on technical accounting and financial reporting matters to senior management as necessary, and ensure timely, complete and accurate disclosures.

  • Lead technical accounting analyses and resolution of complex accounting transactions related to potential transactions such as acquisitions, investments, derivatives and hedging.

  • Assist external auditors during quarterly interim reviews and year-end audit

  • Monitor and prepare for the adoption of new and emerging accounting standards and reporting requirements and provide technical guidance on the adoption and implementation of such standards/changes for both IFRS and US GAAP.

  • Perform certain accounting analysis on a monthly/quarterly basis to facilitate external financial reporting, such as impairment of long-lived assets and debt securities, stock-based compensation, valuation allowances and reserves, segment reporting, fair value reporting, and other accounting topics requiring significant and/or complex judgements

  • Oversee and maintain appropriate documentation and identification of the Company's SOX key processes and controls in the respective area

  • Drive process improvements and innovations within the department as well as within the global organization

  • Manage the consolidation and analysis of global revenue by building out standardized reporting, and also proactively work with the business to consider technical accounting positions and policies for any and all revenue arrangements.

  • Work closely with the Director of Financial Operations to ensure revenue related accounts are fully reviewed and reconciled.

What you bring to the table:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and CPA required.

  • 10 years of progressive technical accounting and financial reporting experience - predominantly at large, multinational public companies

  • 5+ years public accounting in Big 4 firm

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, Word, PowerPoint

  • Proven ability to independently work through complex accounting transactions and collaborate with business leaders to advise them on key accounting considerations.
