The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced Software Development Manager to lead and manage a team of up to 10 developers with different responsibilities, including Backend, Frontend, and Mobile development.

This role is hands-on and includes both technical and people leadership, where you will work with other development managers and leaders across ApplyBoard to ensure the continued success of our software development team in India.

What you’ll be doing every day:

• Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentoring to the development team.

• Manage the software development life cycle from planning, design, development, testing, and deployment.

• Work closely with product managers, UX designers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality software products.

• Develop and implement software development best practices, standards, and processes.

• Manage the team's workload and ensure timely delivery of projects.

• Participate in the recruitment and hiring of developers.

• Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and mentor team members to improve their skills and capabilities.

• Ensure that the team is up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in software development.

What you bring to the table:

• At least 3-5 years of experience in leading teams as a software development manager or a team lead.

• Proficiency in Ruby on Rails, NodeJS (JavaScript / Typescript), React

• Experience in mobile app development. Familiarity with Flutter is a plus

• Experience with AWS (Microservices or SOA), Kubernetes, HelmCharts, Observability, Infrastructure as Code

• Strong system and relational database design skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

• A high bar for quality and attention to detail.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
