Summary / Role Purpose
The Sr. Account Manager Academic Program has a dual responsibility.
- Responsible for growing new and renewal revenue his region
- Responsible for the promotion of the use of ANSYS simulation tools in universities for research and teaching activities.
The Sr. Account Manager Academic Program manages a CP team which establishes and maintains regular contact with key university advocates, Professors & University Management to ensure the sale and adoption of ANSYS tools throughout the University.
The Sr. Account Manager Academic Program works closely with Ansys channel partners to reach both revenue goals and adoption of Ansys in research and teaching goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Leads and manages the regional academic business
- Defines academic territory for the regions and regularly reviews it and makes changes if needed
- Closely work with Ansys Costumer Excellence team and channel partner to ensure efficient and scalable technical support provided to academic customers
- Maintains a high motivation of the CP team
- Hires new team members when needed
- Motivate & Develop Channel Partner network in the assigned Territory
- Responsible for accurate forecasting of sales revenue on a weekly basis and conduct monthly as well as quarterly business reviews with channel partners.
Leads the regional academic revenue strategy and its implementation
- Defines and maintain a list of priority universities for the adoption of Ansys Campus-Wide Solutions
- Leads or assists channel partners to maximize revenue sales and close new business deals
- Defines and implement a long-term strategy to ensure constant new business opportunities
- Closely monitor quarterly revenue forecast and long-term revenue pipeline
- Defines and/or implements direct vs. indirect (i.e. via channel partners) account assignments as needed
- Defines and implements a long-term revenue strategy that ensures stable academic revenue (e.g. Lease vs. Paid-Up, multiyear deals, etc.)
- Works closely with channel partners and Ansys ACE teams to ensure that the right support model is in place that ensures both customer satisfaction and efficiency of the support system provided to academic clients
- Create and conduct sales presentations that clearly present the value of company’s products/services through metrics and proof points while tying to the customer’s needs and differentiating from competition.
- Establishes relationships with business leaders and customer executives who can serve as business champions for Ansys.
Leads the regional academic strategy for the inclusion of Ansys in Research activities
- Defines, with other groups (commercial sales, ACE, channels), the priorities research groups where Ansys needs to be used. Defines and implements a strategy that ensure that Ansys is used in those key groups and minimize or even remove usage from competitive tools
- Identifies opportunities to deploy the full portfolio of Ansys tools in key research groups
- Maintains, with the team, key relationships with priority research groups Leads the regional academic strategy for the inclusion of Ansys in Curriculum
- Defines and maintain a list of priority universities for the adoption of Ansys in curriculum
- Manages (and directly performs when needed) a constant number of presentations showcasing the ANSYS Academic Program to faculty and students (demand generation events)
- Manages and ensures that Ansys is included in curriculum on a regular basis
- Joins and participates in activities of influential groups (e.g ASME, IEE)
- Manages student teams activities, Ensure that key students teams have access to Ansys products and training. Ensure that the student teams contacts are leveraged to find new adoption opportunities
JOB MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of 7+ year of sales experience (4+ Years in Academic Sales)
- Basic knowledge of company's products/services and pricing practices
- Excellent selling skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Professional appearance and presentation required
- Demonstrated success in technical sales positions.
- Ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities while tracking progress.
- Works independently with managerial guidance as needed
- Ability to navigate moderately complex sales and customer issues with guidance
- Ability to coordinate internal and external ecosystems.
- Strong networking skills, ability to drive new contacts and maintain good business relationships
- Fluent in English and in the local language of the territory
- At least 50% travel to universities required
OTHER INFORMATION
- Engineering degree or equivalent training in engineering strongly preferred
- Proven/documented sales ability
- Heavy phone usage
