Summary / Role Purpose
Join the Ansys Customer Excellence team to partner with our customers to engineer enterprise-level software solutions and grow Ansys’ business. Primarily working under direct supervision of your manager, you will contribute to the development of Ansys Platform solutions and supporting systems. In this role, you will collaborate with a team of expert professionals to accomplish solution development objectives.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Understand and follow the development processes, best practices, and coding guidelines.
- Participate in the implementation, maintenance, testing and documentation of software modules and sub-systems
- Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations.
- Participate in user acceptance testing of new functionality to ensure that new features and workflows function as intended.
- Work with the cyber security team to implement all cyber related requirements.
- Identify defective infrastructure functionality (in dev or live environments) and log defects, alert infra leaders.
- Evaluate defect tickets, coordinate and assign to get completed.
- Take process flows and developer instructions and create development (staging) code.
- Test and validate business requirements to implemented functionality.
- Coordinate other team members in the implementation, maintenance, testing and documentation of software modules and sub-systems.
- Convert business requirements into process flows, developer instructions.
- Participate in the codification of business requirements and structural design of software modules and sub-systems.
- Review developed functionality for applicability, quality, efficiency, sustainability.
- Develop subject matter expertise and knowledge of new technologies and approaches useful to serve the business requirements
- Participate in other strategic team and company initiatives, as needed
Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience
- Required education and degree type: BS in Engineering, Computer Science or related field
- Required minimum years of professional experience in an engineering software environment: BS+5 or MS+3
- Logical problem-solving, strong interpersonal and communication skills, fluent in writing and speaking English
- Strong organizational and time management skills, possesses a sense of urgency
- Projects a professional image and demonstrates business acumen, driven to succeed
- Capability to work independently, as well as with others in a fast paced, diverse team environment with continually evolving priorities
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns
- Proficiency in PHP frameworks (such as Laravel, Symfony) and JavaScript frameworks (such as React, Angular, Vue.js)
- Experience with languages such as HTML5, CSS3, and jQuery
- Comfortable working with debugging tools like Firebug, Chrome Inspector, etc.
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git
- Strong proficiency with database technologies (MySQL)
- Knowledge of how to interact with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML)
- Experience with WordPress development (Rest, Hooks, WP themes, Custom post types and Taxonomies)
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Preferred education and years of professional experience in an engineering software environment: BS+8 or MS+6
- Ability to learn quickly and to collaborate with others in a geographically distributed team
- Familiarity with AWS/Azure Cloud platforms, Docker
- Experience with DevOps practices (e.g., CI/CD, infrastructure code)
- Experience with mentoring other engineers in the team
- Experience with Linux systems (as user and administrator)
