As the Vertical Lead, you will lead the Public Sector business unit. This portfolio represents our most recognized model, anchored by GovLab, and boasts deep relationships, brand awareness, a large cross-functional team, and a multi-million dollar book of business. Reporting to the CEO, you will be responsible for the end-to-end GTM strategy, budget, and portfolio health. You will act as a market builder—leading sales calls, navigating government relations, and ensuring delivery excellence. We are looking for a seasoned operator with an entrepreneurial spirit to take us to our next phase of growth, scaling this proven model to another level.
Required Results:
Revenue Growth: Drive aggressive revenue targets and commercial innovation, maintaining healthy gross margins across the portfolio.
GTM & Sales Leadership: Lead the overarching growth strategy for our most mature vertical, optimizing a proven sales engine to capture a larger market share.
Direct Sales Execution: Serve as the high-level closer and senior representative in key strategic meetings, partnering with a dedicated team of Account Executives and Client Success team members who support both net-new growth and account expansion.
Strategic Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the face of the vertical, building trust-based relationships with senior government officials and ecosystem partners.
Government Relations & Advocacy: Establish the organization as a trusted partner through proactive engagement with regulatory bodies and government stakeholders at all levels of government and in multiple geographies.
Product & IP Strategy: Shape a product roadmap that prioritizes recurring revenue and the creation of reusable agentic solutions for the AltaForge library.
Integrated Portfolio Leadership: Successfully oversee both the Public Sector and Health business units, identifying cross-sector synergies and scaling repeatable models.
Delivery Excellence: Ensure successful, high-impact delivery of AI/ML solutions that delight clients and serve as repeatable models for the sector.
Sector Budget & Health: Maintain accountability for the sector’s financial health, optimizing budget allocation to balance growth with delivery excellence.
Essential Functions:
Lead the vertical strategy in alignment with organizational goals, acting with the autonomy of a business owner.
Manage the vertical’s budget, making data-driven tradeoff decisions regarding resource allocation, investment, and risk.
Inherit and lead a high-performing, cross-functional team member dedicated to the portfolio including sales, marketing, delivery, product, and engineering to successfully execute the vertical's vision.
Act as the Executive Sponsor for major client engagements, ensuring delivery stays on scope, on time, and on value.
Accountable for client satisfaction and the long-term health of the delivery portfolio.
Leverage our proven GovLab success to scale repeatable industry-solution models, ensuring every engagement further hardens our economic moat and expands the AltaForge library.
Working closely with the COO, act as a key liaison for Government Relations, building trust-based relationships with senior officials and policy influencers.
Navigate complex public sector regulatory environments to resolve conflicts and clear paths for AI adoption.
Serve as a credible, authoritative voice for AI in the Public Sector at industry events and executive forums.
Advocate for responsible AI adoption and best practices, positioning the company as a global thought leader.
Work across the organization to resolve conflicts and address challenges in complex public sector environments.
Collaborate with engineering and product leadership to ensure the delivery of marketable and profitable products.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrable relationships in the Public Sector with over 10 years progressive leadership experience.
Experience in digital transformation and adoption or high-growth tech environments is considered an asset.
Proven track record of being in the trenches personally generating leads, closing complex deals, and growing revenue in Public Sector or Health.
Experience setting clear direction, leading others towards the shared strategic vision, and scaling repeatable industry-solution models.
Strong background in Government Relations and managing senior stakeholder expectations in complex, regulated environments.
