We're seeking a Chief Technology Officer to lead our agriculture venture studio's talented technical team and shape our technology strategy. The perfect candidate will thrive in smaller team environments, possess a hands-on approach, and have the ability to establish rapport with technology departments in larger corporations.

As the Chief Technology Officer, you will be responsible for defining and executing our company's technology vision, aligning it with our business objectives. You'll oversee all aspects of technology administration, strategy, intellectual property and team leadership to drive innovation, foster client relationships, and maintain technical excellence.
Technology Leadership:
- Define and execute the company's technology strategy to support business objectives.
- Cultivate positive client relationships and establish a reputation for technical excellence.
- Lead and supervise the technology team to achieve strategic goals.
- Create and maintain organizational KPIs for the technical team.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to set clear priorities and goals for IT management and production.
Technology Strategy:
- Collaborate with the Product/Strategy team to ensure alignment with business priorities and budgets.
- Develop decision support tools by capturing meaningful data.
- Implement a robust technology security plan for customer and organizational data.
- Drive strategies for advancing partnerships, technology platforms, and external relationships.
Team Excellence:
- Ensure the codebase is well-maintained and technical debt is managed effectively.
- Foster scalable growth within the technical team.
- Support developers by enabling a first-class developer experience.
- Ensure well-documented processes and readily available institutional knowledge.
Machine Learning / AI:
- Develop and lead an applied AI team within the company.
- Integrate AI/ML capabilities into our products and solutions.
- Conduct experiments based on product hypotheses and recommend AI/ML applications.
- Establish best practices for AI usage across the organization.
Technology Administration:
- Maintain technical and compliance certifications, overseeing audits.
- Lead non-dilutive funding applications.
- Coordinate patent applications with legal counsel.
- Manage software licenses, negotiations, and renewals.
- Monitor and manage user access permissions for software applications.
- Perform audits to optimize software usage and ensure compliance.
Experience:
- At least Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience in a leadership role within an agriculture technology-driven organization.
- Experience growing a technical team from small to medium size.
- Strong understanding of technology trends, security, and compliance standards.
- Demonstrated ability to foster innovation, collaboration, and excellence within a technical team.
- Experience with machine learning/artificial intelligence implementation is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
