Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Finance to join our organization for a period of 14 months (February 2026 – April 2027). The Director of Finance reports to the CFO and is responsible for overseeing the finance team, including processes, monthly reporting packages and day-to-day finance activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support the finance team of two to ensure accurate completion of all general business transactions (i.e. invoicing, bill payments, bank transactions, returns, expense reports etc.).
- Review transactions and month-end books to ensure completeness and accuracy of financials.
- Oversee Accounts Receivable, managing follow-up for late payments and surfacing issues to the proper authorities for resolution.
- Close month-end books and prepare reporting packages and analysis for the company in accordance with US GAAP. Present monthly financial reports to CFO and CEO.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards by analyzing treatment and preparing accounting memos as necessary.
- Update financial forecasts each month with actual results.
- Calculate monthly commissions for the sales team.
- Manage price increase process for subscription renewals.
- Assist with year-end tax filings with parent company tax team.
- Manage monthly sales tax obligations and filing requirements.
- Assist with preparing the annual budget with direction from the CFO.
- Manage payroll and related processes.
- Assist with ad hoc requests and projects, as assigned.
Qualifications
- Chartered Professional Accountant, experience in public accounting is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 5-10 years of progressive finance experience, including leadership roles.
- Experience managing diverse teams and mentoring staff for career development.
- Familiarity with scale-up or tech environments is considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP.
- Experience with Netsuite is an asset.
