We are looking for a Quality Analyst to work closely with our engineering and software teams. What kinds of activities will you do in Software QA Test and Automation?

As our Software QA Test and Automation lead, you'll have the opportunity to enhance and maintain efficient quality processes to support our rapid release schedule. You will be responsible for both manual and automated testing.

You will start by becoming familiar with the product and the team, manually testing new features and checking for regressions. As you gain a better understanding you will recommend and implement improvements to our test case management and automated tests.

You will be joining the software platform team. We're responsible for handling all the data once it leaves the sensor: storing, processing, and presentation via web and mobile apps. We work closely with the hardware, firmware, manufacturing, support, and machine-learning teams. As our QA expert, you'll spend most of your time on platform testing, but also be responsible for some system tests including hardware (with support from the hardware/electrical teams).

Responsibilities:

  • Confirming that new features behave as specified
  • Developing and executing test plans
  • Developing and monitoring automated tests
  • Monitoring beta program installations and feedback
  • Working collaboratively with developers and leaders to systematically improve quality

Must Haves:

  • Working knowledge of Python or JavaScript
  • Understanding of common QA techniques and concepts
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong systematic problem-solving

Nice to Haves:

  • Post-secondary education in a related field (computer science/engineering, IT) or equivalent experience
  • Experience developing test plans and automated tests
  • Experience testing mobile apps (iOS and Android) as well as browser-based software
  • Experience with systematic/structured regression testing
  • Experience with GPIO on Raspberry Pi or Arduino

This is a hybrid role with an office in downtown Kitchener, work-from-home 3 or 4 days a week available.
