About the role:
We are looking for an experienced and strategic Manager of Communications to lead our public relations, media relations, and corporate communications efforts. This role is integral to the marketing team and will have a significant impact on our company’s visibility and reputation in the Learning Management System landscape and broader Enterprise learning. The ideal candidate will bring 7-10 years of experience in public relations and a proven track record of building and managing media relationships while significantly increasing share of voice and positive sentiment. This role requires a leader who can strategize, plan, and execute initiatives that will drive brand visibility, enhance communication efforts, and support our overall business objectives.
What you’ll do:
- Public Relations & Media Relations: Develop and execute PR campaigns to increase brand visibility and credibility across key media outlets.
- Media Training: Provide media training for key stakeholders to ensure they are prepared for interviews and public appearances, enhancing their ability to represent the company effectively.
- Analyst Relations: Collaborate with the product marketing team to support analyst relations by amplifying analyst research and insights to the broader market. This includes promoting analyst assets, assisting with writing for analyst projects, and leveraging analyst content in broader PR initiatives.
- Strategic Storytelling: Leverage customer stories to highlight the value of Absorb, working cross-functionally where needed
- Media Relations: Build and nurture relationships with key media outlets to secure coverage that enhances the company’s brand reputation and visibility.
- Agency Management: identify, onboard, and manage relationships with external PR agencies to ensure effective execution of communication strategies.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor media coverage, analyze campaign effectiveness, and adjust strategies to maximize impact.
- Crisis Communication: Assist in crisis communication and reputation management efforts to safeguard the company’s reputation
- Writing & Messaging: Lead the development of comprehensive messaging frameworks and craft high-quality written content, including press releases, award submissions, keynote speaker messaging, and other executive communications, to ensure all communications align with the company’s brand and strategic objectives.
- Strategic Opportunities: Identify and pursue strategic opportunities for speaker engagements and award submissions that will enhance the visibility of the product and company, positioning Absorb as a leader in the industry.
What you’ll bring:
- 7-10 years of experience in public relations and corporate communications, ideally within the HR, Learning & Development, eLearning or EdTech spaces.
- Proven success in securing media coverage and managing PR campaigns.
- Strong relationships with media and industry analysts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive and results-oriented mindset.
- Experience managing PR agencies and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
