We are looking for a highly-motivated IT Helpdesk Intern to join our growing IT team for an 8 month term starting January 2025. Data and information technology are at the heart of what we do, and with the right team and innovative IT solutions, we believe that we can tackle the most challenging scientific problems. How you might spend your days:

• Responding to and tracking incoming requests for IT technical support from employees in person, via phone, email, or our internal ticketing system
• Assisting with management of user accounts and subscriptions for licensed software
• Configuring new computers (installing OS and software, deploying user profiles) for new employees or replacement computer for existing employees
• Managing printers, scanners, and general user hardware in all office locations
• Maintaining IT inventory lists
• Troubleshooting system and network problems, including diagnosing and helping to resolve hardware/software failures
• Identifying issues and engaging senior IT staff where appropriate
• Assisting in ad hoc projects as needed

We'd love to hear from you if:

• You have 2+ years of post secondary education in Network/IT/computers
• You have experience in desktop/laptop hardware troubleshooting
• You have Windows and MacOS desktop knowledge
• You have systems administration experience (servers, VPN, connectivity, and switches) (desirable)
• You have good working knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and measures
• You demonstrate initiative and be proactive about resolving issues
• You enjoy working with people from diverse professional backgrounds and thrive in a team-based environment, building solutions that meet specific needs across a diverse set of users
• You have strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• You have excellent documentation and organizational skills with impeccable attention to detail
• You are accountable, reliable, punctual, and resilient, with an unwavering work ethic

What we offer

AbCellera’s hiring range for this role is $3,300-$4,300 CAD per month, commensurate with your education and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. We base our compensation ranges on localized market data ensuring competitive compensation. In addition to base pay, we offer a number of ways to support AbCellerites in maximizing their worklife synergy. You will have a vacation allowance as well as additional days off as part of our company-wide office closures (a real value to all!), and sick leave time while on your co-op.
