3iQ is looking for a Senior Manager, Funds who will be a major contributor to the finance team and overall 3iQ organization. Responsible for the monthly financial reporting and analysis, this person will be a key part of funds operations and reporting to the Ontario Securities Commission. The right person will bring exceptional team collaboration skills who has extensive fund accounting experience and wants to roll up their sleeves to advance their career and be part of and exciting company.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
• Liaise with third party service provider regarding fund accruals, NAV calculations, fund financials, distributions and tax returns
• Prepare monthly management fee invoice, process monthly management fee and fund operating expense recoveries from the fund and ensure they are correctly captured in the manager’s and fund GL
• Prepare and monitor fund expense accruals in conjunction with the Third Party Fund Administrator
• Track Fund MER’s and other essential fund data points including performance reporting
• Maintain reporting on Fund capstock activity for reporting to the sales, management and marketing teams
• Review Fund offering documents and provide input, where necessary
• Work with the Funds external auditors to assist in the completion of the audit
• Review Fund financial statements, notes to financial statements and MRFP’s
• Work with third party Fund Administrator to help combine T3 (Trust) tax returns, to approve year end fund distributions
• Prepare PFIC calculations and statements
• Prepare and update ancillary fund tax forms (W8BEN-E, Mutual Fund Trust applications etc)
• Manage regulatory reporting requirements (F31-103F1 working capital, 45-106 Participation Fees, Risk Assessment Questionnaires)
• Complete quarterly mutual fund trust classification testing
• Work with fund administrators to review and approve distributions
• Design work plan, set deliverables, realistic timelines etc. and ensure direct reports understand what is expected and the team is aligned
• Provide performance feedback to team members
• Espouse 3iQ values through professional and personal conduct
• Liaise with Compliance and attend meetings as required
• Work with Compliance to ensure maintenance of proper compliance to the company’s policies and procedures as it relates to the finance and fund operations departments
• Act as Fund/Finance accounting liaison in assisting with new fund launches and all related activities
• Continually draft, review and update Funds operating policies and procedures operating manual
• P & L modelling for new product launches to determine feasibility and optimal fee structures
• Ownership of fund database
• Adhoc reporting to internal departments and support for decision-making
• Assist with corporate accounting/finance on day to day activities and reporting
• Ad hoc reporting duties as requested

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
• 5+ years experience in corporate accounting preferably within the investment fund industry
• Experience with monthly financial reporting and analysis
• Undergraduate degree with a focus on Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Accounting or commerce is preferred but not mandatory.
• Exceptional Microsoft Excel skills is essential
• Experience dealing with audits is preferred but not mandatory
• Exceptional ability to be highly collaborative and flexible in a very dynamic environment
• Excellent attention to detail
• Confident in ensuring all tasks are understood and not afraid to ask questions
• Experience with Intuit Quickbooks is an asset
